Southern Division has been awarded a portion of the 1.5 million square foot Bridgestone Americas Off Road Radial Tire Facility in Aiken, SC to provide 5,400 tons of structural steel and 2,400 tons of joist. The primary structure consist of large overhead crane runways utilizing jumbo column sections and heavy crane girders and plate girders along with 115 foot beams and joist framing the roof. Our work also includes a 4 story structure going into a pit below grade. This award follows 2,500 tons in an earlier phase provided by Mid-South Division. This tire facility will produce large and extra-large off road tires used on heavy earth moving equipment which Bridgestone currently only produces in Japan.
