AGE Biomass Combined Heat and Power

In July 2015, Southern Division was awarded the Albany Green Energy Biomass CHP project in Albany, GA. The project is scheduled to deliver starting in October with completion by the end of January 2016, and has contributed tremendously in filling Southern Divisions shop through 2015, with 27,000 man hours. Upon completion, the 2,186 ton, 50 megawatt, plant will provide all of the steam needs for Proctor and Gamble’s largest U.S. facility, and a large percentage of the electricity for the local utility provider. It is also estimated to generate up to 500 jobs during construction, as well as approximately 70 permanent jobs for the local economy.
