Maine General Regional Hospital

Maine General’s new regional hospital was constructed using the collaborative IPD process. This process allowed for major subcontractors, including Cives Steel, to be involved in the conceptual and design phases of the project. Cives, in conjunction with SMRT and software producers, was able to develop new interfaces between detailing and design software packages producing one of a kind interoperability and allowing for industry-first methods of real-time model collaboration and review. This process allowed Cives to start the steel erection more than one month ahead of schedule and set the stage for follow on trades with the end result being a project that will complete construction months ahead of schedule.
