Maynard H. Jackson, Jr. International Terminal

atlanta airport

Southern Division recently completed the fabrication and erection of the new 3,800 ton International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The world’s busiest airport was able to maintain their incredible volume of incoming and outgoing flights during the duration of the construction. The structure consisted of long span trusses, complex perimeter framing, and highly scrutinized Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel. The AESS consisted of a radius Curtain Wall structure that supported glass panels, and a Pedestrian Bridge that spanned 140 feet from the parking garage to the new terminal. All portions of the structure were LEEDS Certified. Southern Division performed this work as a Joint Venture with American Custom Manufacturing based in Cleveland, TN. ACM fabricated and erected the complicated miscellaneous steel package, coordinating daily with Cives to ensure both scopes stayed ahead of schedule. Working with ACM allowed Cives to have 38 percent of the project contract to be performed by a Minority Business Enterprise.
