Detroit Events Center

MWD was recently awarded the Detroit Events Center project by Midwest Steel out of Detroit. This will be the home of the Detroit Redwings Hockey team starting with the 2017 season. We will start deliveries this fall and continue through the first 3 quarters of 2016.

Marco Island Marriot

Southern Division was recently awarded the 2,025 ton Marco Island Marriot Lanai Building located in Marco Island, FL. The Marriot Resort will remain open to guests during the duration of the project, adding another level of complexity to the already challenging site location. The bulk of the fabrication consists of columns embedded in concrete, shop assembled trusses that span the guest rooms, and field assembled trusses that span a 150’ ballroom clear space. The erection will require multiple mobilizations to allow concrete installation between sequences and is scheduled to be complete by October of 2016, allowing the building to open to the public in early 2017.

Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project

In June 2015, Bechtel OG&C awarded Cives Mid South Division the 39,000 Ton structural steel package on the Corpus Christi LNG facility. Cives will manage all of the work from the Mid South Division but will use a multiple shop teamwork approach to fab and deliver this large project. The work includes two LNG Trains, a large OSBL area, and steel for the Inlet Air area. Delivery will begin in September.

Aleris CALP 1 & 2 Building and Cold Mill Building

In January 2015, Cives Mid South Division was awarded a 7300 Ton steel mill addition in Kentucky. Erection on this furnish and erect contract began in April. Erection is proceeding at a fast pace with 3 cranes setting steel 6 days a week. The CALP Building will be topping out in June. The work includes crane columns, crane beams, trusses, star columns, and lots of platework.

Sabine Pass Stage 2

In May 2015, Cives Mid South Division completed delivery of 22,000 Tons of steel to the Sabine Pass LNG facility in Cameron Parish Louisiana. This work for Bechtel OG&C included two LNG Trains and various OSBL piperacks. At the peak of fabrication and galvanizing production, between 500 and 800 tons were being delivered per week.

Exxon Mobile Energy Center

This recently completed project by Cives Mid South Division is featured in the June 2015 edition of Modern Steel Construction. The complex 9000 Ton project was successfully built thanks to the daily coordination and collaboration between Cives Mid South Division Project Management, Cives Engineering and our steel erector - Peterson Beckner Industries. Cives is proud to have been a part of creating this special structure in The Woodlands, Texas.

New York Presbyterian Hospital - David H. Koch Center

Northern Division has begun fabrication of 11,000 tons of structural steel for the New York Presbyterian Hospital – David H. Koch Center located in N.Y.C. This new hospital consists of 18 floors totaling 726,000 square feet and will require NOD to fabricate 232 large plate girders, 24 heavy box columns, and two large transfer trusses. With erection beginning in May 2015 Northern is looking forward to completing this large and demanding project.

Urban Union Project

North-West Division was recently awarded the structural steel package for the Urban Union Project located in Seattle, WA. The 12-story office building has 291,000 rentable square feet of space and over 1,450 tons of structural steel. This project requires erection to begin in June 2015 in anticipation of overall project completion in early 2016.

Great Falls Clinic Medical Center

North-West Division was recently awarded the structural and miscellaneous steel package for the Great Falls Clinic Medical Center in Great Falls, MT. This facility will house a 19 bed hospital, operating rooms, procedure room and emergency room. NWD is excited to extend a very successful relationship with Brasfield & Gorrie to the Northwest and is eager to establish a new relationship with Dick Anderson Construction.

Carty Generating Station

Abeinsa EPC recently selected North-West Division as the successful bidder for the supply of structural steel at the Carty Generating Station project in Boardman, OR. The 1,600 tons of structural steel for this combined cycle facility was awarded, in part, based upon North-West Division’s ability to support the project’s aggressive schedule demands. Cives is eager to showcase our abilities on this project and we look forward to building the foundation of a successful, long-term relationship with our newest customer
