Since 1960, Viking-Cives has manufactured a wide range of truck equipment that makes snowy and icy roads safe for individuals, families, school buses, etc. We specialize in customizing snow and ice removal equipment for heavy municipal, county, and state trucks by installing a variety of specialized equipment. Job Summary:
In this Material Handler role, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks to support fabrication such as moving stainless steel parts with a forklift, removing scrap from work areas, acid washing manufactured parts, and/or helping a Press Operator with heavy raw material. A mindset of continuous improvement and desire to expand your knowledge is ideal, as we constantly try to better ourselves in every aspect of what we do. What You'll Do As A Light Material Handler
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading freight
- Stocking production with raw material and helping to load machines
- Stocking assembly/installation with equipment
- Preparing product for painting
- Yard organization and cleanliness
- Forklift operation
- Forklift inspection
- Continuous improvement
- Other duties and responsibilities as required; we are a Team, and we support each other.
Qualifications:
- A proven ability to be a respected, trusted, and reliable teammate
- Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to collaborate and adapt to changes that come
- Training and experience in driving a forklift
- Fantastic attendance and punctuality
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- 3+ years of warehouse and manufacturing experience within large equipment manufacturing or fabrication shop
- HS diploma or GED is preferred
- Preferred consideration for candidates who have longevity with prior employers.
Schedule:
- 1st shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
- 2nd shift: Monday – Thursday 4:30 pm – 3:00 am
- Additional hours during the week may be required.
