As a Project Engineer-in-Training, you’ll gain hands-on experience across every major aspect of our business, including engineering, fabrication, estimating, project management, and field operations. You’ll work alongside experienced industry professionals, develop valuable technical and leadership skills, and build the foundation needed for a successful career managing complex construction projects.
What You’ll Learn

This role is designed to give you a complete understanding of the structural steel fabrication and construction process while preparing you for future leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
As your training progresses, you’ll become involved in:
- Supporting overall project management activities
- Coordinating project schedules and deliverables
- Organizing and managing submittals and project documentation
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement and management
- Processing monthly billings and payment applications
- Tracking and expediting RFIs, change orders, and project communications
- Collaborating with engineering, detailing, production, and field teams
- Helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Building strong working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in construction, manufacturing, and project management
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
- Desire to grow into a Project Management leadership role
Preferred
- Previous internship, co-op, or professional experience in construction, manufacturing, welding, engineering, or project management
- Interest in heavy industrial and commercial structural steel construction
